It will feature the exciting young soprano, Josephine Shaw - a star in the making - in some dramatic arias by Handel (from Alcina), Vivaldi (from Orlando Furioso), Marcello (Arianna Abandonata), Zelenka (from Il Diamante) and Porpora with instrumental music by Geminiani (The Enchanted Forest), Vivaldi, Handel and Zelenka.
The theme is love in all its passions reflected in mythological landscapes - storms, water nymphs, caves, enchanted glades, people being turned into bushes and that sort of thing.
